Personal update

October 6, 2011

A few ministry updates and requests for prayer …

We are thrilled to have hired a new manager of operations and programs for the Center.  See the Duke Divinity announcement under “Latest News.”  This comes with a new chapter of growth for the Center, Emmanuel, and me in this work which keeps surprising us.  Pray for Emmanuel on his first-ever sabbatical year, on a fellowship with the Kroc Institute at Notre Dame and currently traveling to new places in Africa.

I started the Duke DMin program this fall, very life-giving after 7 years of intense work getting the Center off the ground.  It is one of our first degrees designed for folks to stay in their positions.

I depart shortly for Romania and Poland for 10 days, will be home for a couple weeks, then depart for my first-ever journey to North Korea (with Christian Friends of Korea).  I will surely write more after my return.  This is Center work, discerning how God might be calling us to expand the work.  We’ll be hosted by Danut Manastireanuea in Romania and Wojtech Szczerba of the Evangelical School of Theology in Wroclaw – both participated in our summer institute in June.

I have not been able to blog much due to the DMin!
